on the first floor at Water Barnetts, which is across a small
gravel courtyard to the rear of the Duck. The Garden Room has French
windows opening out onto a large private balcony overlooking the
garden and tarn. Floor to ceiling cantilevered window provide stunning
views across the fields towards the Langdales. This large room

We
have five superior rooms, one of which is in the main building and
four across the courtyard at Water Barnetts. These rooms are slightly
larger and have king sized beds. Most have a separate shower as well
as a bath.

We have two standard plus rooms in the main building both of which have separate showers.

We have six standard rooms, which are all, with one exception,
situated above the Inn itself. Because of the age and layout of
the Duck they are relatively small and have standard double beds
and usually bath but no shower.
Rooms
2 and 3 are located in the
oldest part of the building at the front overlooking the cross roads
and towards Lake Windermere.

We have six standard rooms, which are all, with one exception,
situated above the Inn itself. Because of the age and layout of
the Duck they are relatively small and have standard double beds
and usually bath but no shower.
Rooms 6, 7 and 8 are
situated at the back of the Duck overlooking the courtyard and
Water Barnetts.
Room 1 is across the courtyard and next to Barngates
Brewery.
The bedrooms at the Duck range from the smaller standard rooms above the old inn
to the more spacious ones with garden access situated in the courtyard and
at Water Barnetts.
Each of the sixteen individually furnished bedrooms at the
Duck offers a unique blend of comfort and contemporary design. Antique
furniture and an extensive collection of prints combine with
a wide range of designer fabrics and traditional paint colours to create
an attractive and relaxing environment.
We are grateful to Kendal Upholstery who are reviving several pieces of our furniture (e.g. chaise longue in Garden Room) using only time honoured, traditional craftmanship.
